Hi everyone! Today I’m going to tell you about my online gaming experience. First, let’s start with a bit of background in my life as a gamer. I grew up with videogames (I’m sure most my age have as well). It all started when I was about 6, and my dad purchased an Atari 2600 from one of his colleagues at his office. At this time, Nintendo was the new experience, my cousin’s had it and loved playing Mario and Duck Hunt with them, but since this was the late 80’s Nintendo was still expensive for us.

Anyways, back to Atari. I remember playing Asteroids and pacman on that thing, my Dad was a big Asteroids fan, that was the game from his generation so that’s why we got that. A few years later we got a Nintendo! I remember feeling like it was the best day of my life! It’s funny how these kind of things mean so much to a kid. Now this was around 92-93 when Super Nintendo and Genesis were the Top Dogs, but I loved our NES all the same.

Lets fast-forward to High School and now we are in the Playstation era. Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy 7…all classics in my book. Nintendo 64 and Goldeneye. This was the beggining of multiplayer for me. My brother and friends and I would gather after school and play Goldeneye for hours. To me, this game is what started my fascination with multiplayer. Other multiplayer games existed, but none had the impact that Goldeneye had for me.

Then Dreamcast came out, yes I know i skipped the Saturn, but that experience deserves it’s own post. I’ll write about it when I get a chance so stay tuned. But the Dreamcast is the first home console to offer online play. You could race against others around the world, but being the first, it had it’s share of problems.
I’ve had my Xbox 360 for some time now, and today, I made the descision to join XBox Live, because I saw a promotion for the Gold membership for only $1! So I said why not? I put in my Credit Card info and got me a gold membership.

I have this racing game called Grid, so I thought I would give this Online play a try. After waiting to connect with other racers, the race starts. Let me tell you time really does fly when you have fun! I just spent 3 hours racing against other from around the world. The game really gets fun when when you have 9 other players on the track! I don’t have the headset, but I could hear other players commenting and communicating and it’s just an amazing experience! Next I pulled out my World At War and had just as much, if not more fun! I didn’t experience any lags or anything of that sort, it was just an all out good time. But time flys so after 3 hours, I had to call it quits, don’t want to overheat my xbox you know
In conclusion, I grew up with games, I’ve seen most of the consoles and owned them and now I finally got to experience online play. I highly recommend it! If you want to add me to your friend’s list my gamertag is sergioizhere . That is all my friends!

I was about 10 years old when I got my first nintendo, (nes). I had many favorites such as Zelda, Super Mario 3 Metal Gear and the Mega Man’s were my fav’s. I also remember getting frustrated and having to blow on the cartridges to get them to work. That was not always fun, but I will always remember those 8 bit classics.
